NEET PG 2026: Exam Day Guidelines, Timings, and Dress Code – All You Need to Know

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to conduct the NEET PG 2026 tomorrow, August 30. As thousands of medical aspirants prepare for this critical gateway to postgraduate medical education, authorities have issued comprehensive guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair examination process.

Exam Timings and Logistics

The examination will take place in a single shift from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Candidates are urged to plan their travel to arrive at the test center well in advance.

  • Reporting Time: Registration at the centers will commence at 7:00 am.
  • Entry Deadline: Strict punctuality is required; entry gates will close promptly at 8:30 am. No candidate will be granted access to the center after this time.
  • Pre-exam Procedures: Candidates will gain access to their login screens at 8:45 am, with the window to read examination instructions opening at 8:50 am.

The final results for the exam are tentatively scheduled to be declared on September 30, 2026, alongside the cut-off date for internship completion.

Mandatory Documents

To ensure a seamless verification process, all candidates must carry the following:

  1. NEET PG 2026 Admit Card: Downloaded from the official NBEMS website (nbe.edu.in).
  2. Valid Photo ID: A printed copy of a PAN card, voter ID, driving license, passport, or Aadhaar card.
  3. Registration Certificate: Issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the respective State Medical Council (SMC).
  4. For Foreign Nationals: A valid passport and documentation confirming their status as a medical practitioner in their home country.

Prohibited Items and Security Protocols

NBEMS maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding unauthorized items to prevent malpractice. The following are strictly banned:

  • Electronics: Mobile phones, tablets, Bluetooth devices, calculators, and watches.
  • Stationery: Pens, paper, writing pads, and erasers.
  • Personal Accessories: Jewelry (chains, rings, earrings, bangles, nose pins), wallets, belts, and goggles.
  • Food: No food or drink, whether opened or sealed, is permitted.

Candidates will undergo rigorous identification verification, which will be monitored via CCTV to prevent impersonation. Please note that face masks are prohibited unless accompanied by official medical documentation.

Dress Code Requirements

To minimize security delays, candidates are advised to dress in simple, comfortable attire:

  • For Male Candidates: Light-colored, half-sleeved shirts or T-shirts are recommended. Footwear with thick soles is discouraged and may be restricted.
  • For Female Candidates: Simple clothing is advised. Candidates should avoid heavily embroidered garments, full-sleeved shirts, and printed jeans.

With only hours left until the exam, aspirants are advised to double-check their documents and familiarize themselves with the location of their test center to avoid any last-minute distress. Good luck to all candidates appearing for this crucial step in their medical careers.
