New promotions at Ochsner Clinic, Republic Business Credit | Business News


South Louisiana businesses and nonprofit groups recently announced the following promotions, new hires and resignations.

Robby Travis




Robby Travis has been hired as the communications director for KID smART, a nonprofit that brings arts education to public schools in the New Orleans area. Travis previously led communications and creative strategy for Dickie Brennan & Co. as its senior marketing and creative manager.

Dr. Robert Hart, Dr. Brian Moore




Dr. Brian Moore will become the next chief physician executive and president of Ochsner Clinic, leading clinical strategy for the health system. Moore was previously medical director of the Ochsner Cancer Institute and Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center, overseeing the expansion of The Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center in New Orleans. He will succeed Dr. Robert Hart, whose retirement will be effective Jan. 1. 

Daniel Maurin, senior vice president and business banking manager for First Horizon Bank, has joined the board of Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans.

Katherine Seghers has been promoted to vice president, marketing manager, for Republic Business Credit. Seghers joined the company in 2023 in an accounting capacity before assuming leadership of the company’s marking functions.

Missy Matherne has been promoted to senior vice president of finance, risk and payments for Pelican Credit Union. Before joining Pelican, Matherne was chief financial officer of Louisiana Federal Credit Union and vice president of finance for Jefferson Financial Credit Union.

Dr. Logan Townsend




Dr. Logan Townsend has been appointed as an assistant professor of LSU’s Pennington Biomedical Research Center, where he will lead the newly established Integrative Stress Metabolism Laboratory. Townsend was, most recently, a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Metabolism, Obesity and Diabetes Research at McMaster University in Canada.

The LSU Health Foundation announced the addition of four new board members and the election of new officers. Paige Sensenbrenner becomes board chair, Dr. Najeeb Thomas vice chair, Deke Carbo treasurer and Dr. Anna Pou secretary. New board members include Nelson Daly, Chris Dyba, Dr. Luke LeBas and Michael Pou

Acadiana

John Blohm has retired as CEO of the University of Lafayette Foundation after 11 years in the role. Karl Meche, the foundation’s chief financial and administrative officer, has been appointed to the rule of interim CEO. Separately, the university has appointed Geoffrey Stewart as interim vice president for advancement and strategy.
