TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Prambanan Jazz Festival is set to return from July 3 to 5, 2026, at the Prambanan Temple complex in Yogyakarta. Marking a milestone 12-year journey, this year’s festival carries the theme “Celebrate the Joy.”
The star-studded 2026 lineup features an array of global and local heavyweights including NIKI, Henry Moodie, Michael Learn to Rock, Xdinary Heroes, The Rose, and Joey Alexander. NIKI’s scheduled performance on the second day comes as a delightful surprise for her Indonesian fanbase following her recent stints on prestigious global stages.
“In our 12th year, we want every audience member to leave with a smile. NIKI is the perfect person to represent ‘Celebrate the Joy’, a world talent who brings immense pride and happiness when returning home,” said Prambanan Jazz CEO Anas Syahrul Alimi.
The encounter between international musicians and this cultural heritage site promises more than just a music festival, but a celebration that unifies emotions and togetherness through a collective experience. This is further reinforced by the presence of Michael Learns to Rock, who will perform at the Prambanan Temple grounds on July 3, 2026.
Anas noted that featuring Michael Learns to Rock positions the festival as an intergenerational melting pot, seamlessly blending nostalgic memories with contemporary energy. “This year’s Prambanan Jazz Festival explores a new harmony by transforming the temple grounds into a grand living room. A place for three generations to meet, share warmth, and celebrate joy together,” he said.
Meanwhile, the inclusion of South Korean breakout act Xdinary Heroes as a headliner coincides with their highly anticipated comeback. The fusion of their bold, experimental modern rock spirit with the timeless grandeur of Prambanan Temple promises a truly extraordinary performance.
“When we discuss the grand theme ‘Celebrate the Joy,’ it is not just a theme. There is a real commitment to delivering happiness. Bringing Xdinary Heroes to the main stage of Prambanan Jazz is one of the concrete proofs of our commitment. We understand the immense longing of the Villains (their fans) to meet with Xdinary Heroes,” Anas expressed.
Anas added that the inclusion of indie-rock sensation The Rose is intended to transcend a typical festival set, creating an intimate space that bridges musical passion and communal spirit beneath the iconic Nusantara stage.
“We’ve seen many Black Roses responding to our lineup wishlist. For us, The Rose has a magical stage presence, from Coachella to Lollapalooza. This isn’t just a mere wishlist, this is a calling. And today, we answer it at the Prambanan Jazz stage this year,” he added.
