Advice against bathing at sites across Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland after a burst sewage main has now been lifted.
It followed a burst to a sewage pipe in Middlesbrough around two weeks ago after it was damaged by a third party.
But after daily testing, the Environment Agency says it is now safe for people to enter the water again.
In Hartlepool, the advice was in place for Seaton Carew’s North, Centre and North Gare beaches.
Meanwhile, Northumbrian Water has been carrying out repairs to the damaged main.
It stated: “The damaged section of the main has now been replaced, and the teams are in the process of carefully testing the pipe to ensure there are no further issues before it goes back into supply.”
The company said the repair has been “incredibly difficult and time-consuming” by having to remove thousands of tonnes of material.
