Nine organisations which were aided by the Northumberland County Council Environment and Climate Fund recently gathered at Morpeth County Hall to share ideas.
Their work includes renewable energy generation, climate education, waste reduction and retrofitting buildings for improved energy efficiency.
Councillor John Riddle, cabinet member for environment, rural and farming, said: “It is always fantastic to see how our annual Environment and Climate Fund is supporting sustainable grassroot projects across the county.
“I would like to thank all of those involved in their efforts in helping maintain and enhance our clean air and green spaces, reduce waste, improve energy efficiency and support nature recovery across the county for everyone to enjoy.”
Groups in attendance included Blyth Riverside Resource Centre, Queen’s Hall in Hexham, Felton Climate and Nature, Coquet River Action Group, Cramlington and District Red Squirrel Group, and Repurposeful CIC.
Others taking part were Ashington Town Council, Heddon on the Wall Parish Council, and Holy Island Village Hall.
The Environment and Climate Fund offers up to £5,000 per group to support sustainability improvements.
The next round of funding is planned for early 2027.
