A day after the Modi Government introduced the Delimitation Bill 2026 in Parliament, laying out a legal framework for constituencies in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the move has had a direct impact in Islamabad, triggering a strong response from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry. Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said they had seen media reports on the bill and rejected India’s delimitation process in Jammu and Kashmir. He described the exercise as illegal, politically motivated, and without legal value, saying it relates to a disputed territory and is aimed at altering its demographic and political structure.
