Roblox adds Hindi language support across its platform

Roblox has introduced official Hindi language support across its platform, Creator Hub and Roblox Studio, marking a significant localisation effort as the company looks to make its services more accessible to India’s large Hindi-speaking community.

The update allows users to switch their account language to Hindi, providing a fully localised interface across Roblox. The feature is available through the account language settings within the Roblox app.

Alongside the interface update, Roblox has expanded its automatic translation capabilities to support Hindi. This enables creators to make their games and avatar-related content available to Hindi-speaking audiences with minimal additional work. The current rollout includes translations for in-game text, game products, game names and game descriptions.

The company said the move is intended to lower language barriers for both players and developers, making it easier for creators to reach a broader audience while allowing more users to experience the platform in their preferred language.

“Roblox thrives on connection, and language shouldn’t be a barrier to creativity. Unlocking Hindi on the platform opens the doors for an incredibly vast, passionate audience of Indian gamers and creators to collaborate and express themselves authentically,” said Sunil Rao, managing director, Roblox India.

He added that the launch represents one of the company’s first major localisation initiatives in the country and forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen India’s gaming ecosystem.

Roblox has also introduced Hindi search engine optimisation (SEO) support, allowing platform pages, assets and experiences in Hindi to be indexed by search engines. The company expects this to improve the discoverability of Roblox content for users searching in Hindi.

The announcement comes as global gaming platforms increasingly invest in regional language support to attract users in markets such as India, where local-language internet usage continues to grow. Localisation has become an important strategy for companies seeking to expand beyond English-speaking audiences, particularly as more creators develop content tailored to regional communities.

Roblox said the Hindi rollout is part of its wider efforts to improve accessibility for users and creators around the world. The company also plans to add Hindi support for chat translation in a future update, enabling conversations between users speaking different languages.
