Sunday’s Indianapolis 500 gave racing fans perhaps the most thrilling finish we’ve seen in some time thanks to Felix Rosenqvist and David Malukas.
After rain and a crash caused multiple red flags over the course of the race, the finish came down to a one-lap shootout. Marcus Armstrong lost the lead by Turn 1 to Malukas, who fended off the former leader and Rosenqvist for the majority of the final lap. However, Rosenqvist ended up getting out ahead of Malukas on the final straightaway and finished just ahead of the 24-year-old American for his first Indy 500 victory.

Not only that, Rosenqvist’s finish broke an Indy 500 record, as the 34-year-old Swede finished 0.018 seconds ahead of Malukas for the closest margin of victory in race history.
What a finish!
