Akbayan party-list Representative Perci Cendaña mocked renewed reports surrounding the alleged International Criminal Court arrest warrant against Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, joking that former President Rodrigo Duterte would supposedly “not be alone” in detention if the senator is arrested.
In a social media post, Cendaña altered the familiar Duterte supporter chant “Tatay Digong hindi na nag-iisa” into “Tatay Digong hindi ka mag-iisa.”
The lawmaker even referenced the popular Rey Valera song while poking fun at rumors linking dela Rosa to a possible ICC arrest.
“And kung kailangan mo ako sa oras ng iyong pag-iisa, Tatay Digong hindi ka mag-iisa,” Cendaña wrote.
The post came amid resurfacing claims that an ICC arrest warrant had allegedly been issued against dela Rosa over the Duterte administration’s controversial war on drugs.
Dela Rosa, who previously served as Philippine National Police chief during the anti-drug campaign, has largely stayed away from public appearances in recent months following speculation surrounding possible ICC actions.
Cendaña also took another swipe at the senator’s absence from the public eye.
“Somewhere out there may dinadagang bato. #ICC,” the lawmaker posted.
The ICC case against Duterte involves allegations of crimes against humanity tied to the deadly anti-drug operations conducted during his administration.
As of posting time, there has been no official public confirmation from the ICC regarding any arrest warrant against dela Rosa.
