Syllabus Update: Shift to Labour Codes
A significant update in this year’s recruitment drive is the revision of the syllabus. The UPSC has officially replaced "Labour Laws" with "Labour Codes," reflecting current legislative updates. The examination will continue to assess candidates on a broad spectrum of topics, including General English, Indian Culture, Freedom Movements, Indian Economy trends, the Constitution of India, General Science, and basic computer applications. Additionally, the test covers Mathematics, Statistics, General Mental Ability, Industrial Relations, Principles of Accountancy, Auditing, and Insurance.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Fees
Candidates must hold a degree from a recognized university to be eligible. While not mandatory, a diploma in Company Law, Labour Laws, or Public Administration is considered a desirable qualification.
The maximum age limit for General and EWS candidates is 35 years as of the application deadline, with standard age relaxations applicable for reserved categories. There is no specified minimum age for applicants.
For the application process, a nominal fee of Rs 25 is required; however, women, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempt from this payment. Aspirants are advised to review the official notification thoroughly to ensure all conditions are met before applying.
