Cricket Legacy Continues: Aaryavir Sehwag Named in India’s U-19 Squad for Australia Series
NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Men’s Selection Committee has announced the national Under-19 squads set to face Australia in an upcoming home series, with a major name grabbing headlines: Aaryavir Sehwag.
The son of legendary Indian opener and former captain Virender Sehwag, Aaryavir has been included in the India U-19 squad for the One-Day series. His selection has sparked significant interest, as fans look to see if the youngster can mirror the aggressive batting flair that made his father one of the most feared cricketers in international history.
A Busy Schedule Ahead
The bilateral series against Australia is set to be a comprehensive test for the young talents, featuring three One-Day matches followed by two Multi-Day (Youth Test) fixtures.
The action kicks off on September 19 in Rajkot, which serves as the hub for the white-ball leg of the tour. The schedule for the One-Day series is as follows:
- September 19: First One-Day, Rajkot
- September 21: Second One-Day, Rajkot
- September 23: Third One-Day, Rajkot
Following the white-ball contests, the focus will shift to the red-ball format. The first Youth Test is scheduled for September 27–30 in Rajkot, while the second fixture will move to Ahmedabad, taking place from October 5–8.

The selectors have opted for a rotation of leadership duties across the formats. Lakshya Raichandani will captain the One-Day side, with Yashbardhan Chauhan serving as his deputy.
