An iconic Swansea café said it is “absolutely devastated” after it was hit by a fire overnight. The family who run Verdi’s in Mumbles said the café and restaurant will be closed after the blaze.
The family-run business, which was operated by the Moruzzi family for generations, has legions of loyal customers for its ice cream, coffees, and authentic Italian food, with stunning views of Swansea Bay. The café was taken over by the Hole family, a local family who run a number of restaurants in Swansea, in 2023.
The Mumbles café is perhaps best known for its award-winning fresh cream Italian ice cream which is made fresh each day.
A post on the Verdi’s social media page said the family are “coming to terms” with the fire, and will work to get the popular café back open as soon as possible. Full story here.
