A man has been taken to hospital after an assault in Newport. Emergency services were called to an incident near Maesglas Crescent at around 10pm on Wednesday evening.
Officers from Gwent Police attended, along with paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service, and a 32-year-old man was taken to hospital to treat injuries to his arm and leg.
A 31-year-old man the Cwmcarn area was arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault and he remains in custody as enquiries continue, police said. Full story here
