West Midlands Metro services resume after power failure

West Midland Metro services have resumed across Birmingham, the Black Country and Wolverhampton after a “major power failure” caused them to be suspended for more than two hours.

The operator warned of “severe delays” as the network began operating again between Wolverhampton and Edgbaston.

Due to the power issues, the operator was previously unable to make announcements at stops or put details on its information boards.

Tickets and passes are still being accepted on National Express buses and West Midlands Trains, West Midlands Metro said.
