Department stores are such reliable fashion footballs. No matter what is going on in the industry, you can bet your bottom dollar (and some retailers might be scratching close to this number) that someone, somewhere, will be bitching about a major multi-brand. Who says Australia doesn’t have a national sport? We do, and it’s called David Jones bashing.
Myer cops it, too, of course. And it’s not unfounded: this week, shares are hovering around the 25¢ mark – down from 72¢ a year ago.
