He was, to the surprise of many, the inaugural contestant to face elimination at the hands of the ominous ‘Circle of Shaqq.’ While Faruqui is no stranger to the competitive landscape of reality shows, this particular elimination carried an unprecedented emotional weight. But that, in essence, is who I am.” He further clarified that his profound distress stemmed not from the act of being eliminated itself. “I wasn’t disheartened because I was departing or because I had lost the game; that is, after all, the fundamental structure of the show. I had only accounted for a mere five percent chance of ultimately winning. My true desire was to sustain my presence within the game, to continue playing. My grief was primarily rooted in that lost opportunity.”
Faruqui articulated his deep sense of being unjustly targeted, stating, “The manner in which I was singled out felt incredibly unfair to me. I would never have approached the game with such a strategy. I possess an inherent inclination to trust people. That’s simply my nature. Everyone in my immediate circle can attest to how readily I place my trust in others. And when that trust is violated, it deeply impacts me. On this occasion, it delivered a profound shock that was clearly etched upon my face.”
During the expansive conversation, when probed about who, in his estimation, possessed the qualities to be an ideal traitor on the show, Faruqui thoughtfully selected Shalini Passi, known from “The Fabulous Lives VS Bollywood Wives.” Delving into his rationale, he described her gameplay, noting, “Shalini didn’t overtly strategize; she didn’t appear to have any overt issues.” Elaborating on why and how she could convincingly orchestrate the ‘murder’ of an innocent, he continued with a vivid anecdote, “Let’s say, hypothetically, you tell her during mealtime that the food hasn’t arrived yet, when in reality it has. Perhaps for such a seemingly minor transgression, she might ‘murder’ you in the dead of night.” He concluded with a playful observation, suggesting that she could effortlessly embody the character of a traitor in real life, complete with a matching designer bag and a stylish umbrella.
