Investigation Underway Following Fatal Road Traffic Collision in Co Armagh
ARMAGH, Northern Ireland — Authorities have launched an investigation following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a woman in County Armagh.
Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision earlier this week. Despite the immediate response of medical personnel, the woman involved succumbed to her injuries.
The victim has since been identified as Eithne Vallely. Following the confirmation of her identity, tributes have begun to emerge for the local woman, as the community reels from the news of the fatal Co Armagh crash.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed that officers attended the scene and conducted a forensic examination of the area to determine the circumstances surrounding the event. As part of their ongoing inquiries, investigators are appealing to the public for assistance.
"We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have captured relevant dash-cam or mobile phone footage, to come forward and speak with our collision investigation unit," a police spokesperson stated.
The road was closed for a significant period following the accident to allow for a full investigation, causing localized traffic disruptions. Police have expressed their condolences to the victim’s family during this difficult time.
Authorities are urging anyone with information—no matter how small they believe it to be—to contact the PSNI via the non-emergency 101 number or through the independent charity Crimestoppers.
