Zee hits 48-week TV share high on Hindi, regional gains


Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd said its linear television network touched a 48-week high market share of 18.6% in Week 22 of 2026 in urban India (15+), aided by gains in its Hindi channels and regional language markets.

The company said the share was up 120 basis points from the previous quarter, driven primarily by Zee TV and Zee Cinema. Zee TV remained the primetime leader in the Hindi-speaking market for 17 consecutive weeks, while Zee Cinema recorded 27% viewership growth in Week 22, helped by television premieres of films including Akhanda 2 – Thaandavam, Kishkindhapuri and Dil Madharaasi.

Across regional markets, Zee Marathi’s share rose to 38.8% from 33.9% in Q4FY26, while Zee Bangla retained the top position in Kolkata across genres. Zee Kannada held on to its leadership in the Kannada GEC segment for the eighth straight year.

In Telugu, Zee Telugu emerged as the No. 1 GEC channel in two of the last five weeks for the first time since 2020, while Zee Tamil’s share increased to 21.1% in Q4FY26. Zee Keralam attained the No. 2 position among Malayalam GECs in May with an 11.5% market share.

Raghavendra Hunsur, Chief Content Officer at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, said the network’s performance reflected the company’s focus on “premium, culturally rooted stories that are authentic, emotionally resonant and crafted with cinematic excellence”.
“Even during one of the most competitive viewing periods of the year, audiences continued to choose our stories. The broadcaster said its recently launched sports network, Unite8 Sports, and new fiction and non-fiction programming would support further viewership growth.
