Veteran Actor Rakesh Bedi Demands Murder Charges for Food Adulterers Amidst Statewide Crackdown
Mumbai, India – Celebrated actor Rakesh Bedi, fresh from his acclaimed performance in ‘Dhurandhar’, has ignited a fierce public debate by calling for severe legal repercussions, including murder charges, against individuals who adulterate food, beverages, and alcohol. In a compelling video widely shared on social media, Bedi articulated his profound concern over the escalating issue of adulterated consumable products. He sharply questioned the lenient penalties faced by perpetrators who knowingly endanger public health for financial gain. The actor emphasized that deliberately compromising the quality of food and drinks constitutes a direct threat to the lives of countless unsuspecting consumers.
“Hi guys and welcome to high chai, no no, not high chai, welcome to high cheers with Rakesh Bedi. Cheers. There is no point in saying cheers now. You know why? Because FSSAI has found out that almost all the liquors that we make in our country, which is made in India, are not liquors at all, they are spirits. The essence of liquor is added to it and it is sold. So we have not been drinking whisky, rum, or brandy in our country for many years.”
Bedi’s comments highlight a shocking revelation from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), indicating that much of the domestically produced liquor is not genuine. He expressed dismay at the apparent oversight by FSSAI officials over the years, questioning why this widespread adulteration went unnoticed for so long.
“Everything is fake. But the question that is coming to my mind is that all the FSSAI officers have been sleeping for so many years. Has no FSSAI officer ever drunk alcohol? Has no FSSAI officer ever realised that liquor is fake in our country? How did he wake up suddenly? Anyway, it’s late, it’s right, now that you’re awake, don’t sleep.”
Demanding Harsher Penalties
The veteran actor did not mince words when advocating for stronger legal action. He firmly stated that individuals responsible for food adulteration should face charges akin to murder or attempted murder.
“Get all this shut and sleep. I mean, never sleep. Because a lot of things are fake in our country. A lot of things. A lot of food items are fake. And I believe that the person who adulterates food, he should be charged with murder or attempt to murder. Because he is trying to kill a lot of people for a little profit. Isn’t it amazing? So the person who adulterates food, whether it is alcohol, food or drinking, the person who adulterates, should be charged with at least attempt to murder.”
