Sunita Ahuja has once again publicly expressed her strong disapproval of her husband, veteran actor Govinda, following his recent public appearance with actress Komal Rani Swarnkar. The coupling has clearly become a point of contention for Sunita, who has not shied away from voicing her candid opinion on the matter.
The controversy stems from photographs of Govinda and Komal Rani Swarnkar at an airport, drawing significant media attention. Swarnkar is also reportedly involved in Govinda’s upcoming film, ‘Roopa.’ This proximity has fueled speculation and led to Sunita’s pointed remarks.
When confronted by paparazzi about the situation, Sunita Ahuja did not hold back, questioning her husband’s judgment in being seen with a woman she described as being close to their daughter’s age. “He is going around with a girl who is the same age as his daughter; shame on him,” she reportedly stated, as quoted by IANS, highlighting her deep-seated concern and embarrassment.
Further exacerbating her frustration, Sunita also made a sarcastic comment, seemingly directed at Komal Rani Swarnkar, while referencing Govinda. “Your sugar daddy is so rich. Dress properly. Just look at our style,” she quipped, injecting a sharp, almost mocking tone into her critique of the situation and perhaps hinting at perceived impropriety.
The discussion also veered towards the promotion of Govinda’s upcoming movie ‘Roopa,’ in which Komal Rani Swarnkar is also cast. Sunita Ahuja appeared to cast doubt on the timing and appropriateness of their joint promotional activities, suggesting that such efforts were premature. “First of all, the movie should be made. Promotion happens after the movie is complete,” she remarked, implying that the focus should be on the film’s production rather than public appearances with its co-star at this stage.
This isn’t the first instance where Sunita Ahuja has publicly taken issue with Govinda’s association with Komal Rani Swarnkar. She had previously responded to similar sightings by invoking the Hindi saying, ‘Vinash Kaale, Vipreet Buddhi,’ which loosely translates to “when destruction is imminent, one’s intellect works against them.” She explained her sentiment to the paparazzi, stating, “Have you heard the saying, ‘Vinash Kaale, Vipreet Buddhi’? He has lost his mind. This is why he does these things. We can’t tell anything.”
Sunita Ahuja also addressed the backlash she has faced for her earlier comments, particularly from those who labeled Govinda as “Cheater Number One.” She expressed a desire for Govinda’s fans and the media to critically evaluate the situation themselves, rather than directing their questions or criticism solely towards her. “I want to question all Govinda fans who were trolling me when I said he cheated on me. What do they have to say now? Don’t ask me anything anymore. I am not interested,” she articulated, clearly frustrated with being at the center of the controversy.
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s long-standing marriage began in 1987, and they share two children, Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan Ahuja. Professionally, Govinda’s last major theatrical release as a lead actor was ‘Rangeela Raja,’ directed by Sikander Bharti, which premiered on January 18, 2019.
