The latest cinematic offering from acclaimed director Venky Atluri, “Vishwanth and Sons,” starring Tamil superstar Suriya and the talented Mamitha Baiju, continues its impressive run at the box office. Following a phenomenal opening weekend where it successfully surpassed the Rs 100 crore benchmark, the film is now navigating its initial weekdays with commendable stability.
On its fourth day, a Monday, the film garnered a net collection of Rs 1.17 crore across India, as per live data from Sacnilk. This figure stems from its screening in 2,337 shows, maintaining an overall occupancy rate of 20.3%. While this marks a natural decline from its Sunday collections of Rs 20.55 crore, such a drop is anticipated as the film transitions from the weekend into its first full weekday.
Delving into the regional performance, the Tamil version of “Vishwanth and Sons” contributed Rs 67 lakh to the day’s earnings, registering an 18% occupancy across 1,448 shows. Concurrently, the Telugu rendition secured Rs 50 lakh from its 889 shows, with a slightly higher occupancy of 24%. It’s important to note that these are preliminary live figures, and the final box office collection for Monday is expected to be even higher once all data for the day is fully compiled.
These consistent numbers have propelled the film’s cumulative India net collection to approximately Rs 59.32 crore. Furthermore, its India gross collection currently stands at an estimated Rs 68.60 crore.
“Vishwanth and Sons” introduces audiences to Suriya in the role of Sanjay Vishwanath, a highly decorated sharpshooter with numerous international accolades. His life is characterized by discipline, tranquility, and routine, a peaceful existence that is dramatically altered by the affectionate overtures of a much younger woman, portrayed by Mamitha Baiju.
Beyond its central stars, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including veteran actors such as Radikaa Sarathkumar, Raveena Tandon, Nassar, and Sudha. The supporting roster is equally impressive, featuring Kalyani Natarajan, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Rajiv Menon, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, and Sarvadaman Banerjee, each contributing significantly to the film’s narrative depth. The emotive soundtrack and compelling score for “Vishwanth and Sons” have been masterfully composed by GV Prakash Kumar, adding another layer of artistry to this commercially successful venture.
