Puducherry Schools Announce Two-Day Closure for Integrated Graduate Level Examination
Puducherry, India – The Education Department of Puducherry has declared a two-day holiday for 69 government and private schools in the Union Territory on August 21st and 22nd. This decision comes as these institutions are slated to serve as examination centers for the upcoming Integrated Graduate Level Examination.
The strategic closure aims to facilitate comprehensive arrangements for the smooth and efficient conduct of the examinations, which are scheduled to run from August 21st to August 23rd. Consequently, students attending these affected schools will enjoy a three-day weekend, including the preceding Sunday.
Extensive Network of Examination Centers Identified
A total of 69 schools have been meticulously selected to serve as examination centers across the four regions of the Union Territory. The Puducherry region accounts for the majority with 53 designated centers. Additionally, eight schools in Karaikal, three in Mahe, and five in Yanam will also participate as examination venues.
Among the prominent institutions in the Puducherry region identified as examination centers are Annai Sivagami Government School, V.O.C. Government School, Galve Chellan School, Uzhavarkarai Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Elango Adigal School, Jeevanandam School, Manimekalai School, Navalar School, Pandit Duraisamy Government High School, Savarirayalu Nayak School, Chinnaththa Government School, Thiruvalluvar School, and Murugambakkam Government School.
Holiday Dedicated to Examination Preparations
The two-day holiday is exclusively for these designated schools, allowing ample time for authorities to finalize all necessary logistical and administrative arrangements. Mr. Mohan Kumar, the Director of Education, has issued clear instructions to the heads of the concerned schools, emphasizing the importance of thorough preparation and coordination to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the examination process. This includes setting up examination halls, ensuring adequate seating, and managing other essential infrastructure.
Compensatory Working Days to Be Announced
Recognizing the impact of the holiday on the academic calendar, the Education Department has assured that alternative working days will be scheduled to compensate for the lost instructional time. Students and parents are advised to closely monitor future announcements from their respective schools for details regarding these compensatory days.
It is crucial to note that this holiday is specific to the 69 schools functioning as examination centers and does not apply to other educational institutions across Puducherry. The Integrated Graduate Level Examination will proceed as planned at these designated centers until its conclusion on August 23rd. School authorities are mandated to collaborate effectively with the examination administration to ensure all preparations are complete well in advance of the test dates.
