Multi-Purpose GMP Small-Molecule API Facility: Scaling Production for Critical Therapies
One of the key expansions is a new multi-purpose GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) small-molecule API facility. This facility significantly boosts SK pharmteco’s manufacturing footprint by adding approximately 26.5 cubic meters of reactor capacity. This includes three 8,000-liter glass-lined batch reactors, complete with associated holding capacity, and a 4.15 square meter Hastelloy agitated filter dryer.
Strategically integrated into the existing infrastructure, this expansion not only increases immediate production capabilities within a proven manufacturing environment but also lays the groundwork for future containment advancements and further capacity growth. Kilo-Scale GMP HPAPI & ADC Payload Facility: Mastering Ultra-High Potency Compounds
The second significant addition is a cutting-edge kilo-scale GMP HPAPI and ADC (Antibody-Drug Conjugate) payload facility. This specialized facility is meticulously designed to handle ultra-high-potency compounds with occupational exposure limits (OELs) as low as an exceptionally stringent 10 nanograms per cubic meter (ng/m3).
This advanced facility supports batch sizes ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 kilograms and incorporates a comprehensive suite of capabilities, including glass reactor capacity up to 30 liters, both rigid and flexible isolators for enhanced safety, high-pressure chromatography for purification, tray drying, and lyophilization for advanced product processing. Located strategically alongside the site’s existing ultra-high potent laboratory and manufacturing facilities, this kilo-scale unit provides seamless continuity as potent programs transition from clinical development into full GMP production, ensuring robust and compliant manufacturing throughout the drug lifecycle.
