GTA 6 Gameplay and Map Appear to Leak Online

GTA 6 Plagued by Fresh Leaks, ‘CyberLeek’ Group Escalates Threats

MIAMI, FL – August 20, 2026Grand Theft Auto 6, the highly anticipated next installment in Rockstar Games’ blockbuster franchise, has been hit with a fresh wave of extensive gameplay leaks, further exposing critical elements of the game ahead of its official release. A group identifying itself as ‘CyberLeek’ has claimed responsibility for the breaches, dramatically escalating their campaign against major video game publishers over concerns about the industry’s shift towards an all-digital future.

The latest leak, surfacing on August 20th, features previously unseen "taser gameplay" and several seconds of a cinematic cutscene, potentially offering early glimpses into the game’s narrative. This follows a substantial leak on August 19th, which saw two gameplay videos – one showcasing protagonist Jason playing basketball and another of him driving and engaging an NPC – along with what appears to be the full game map, spread across the internet.

CyberLeek had previously threatened further disclosures, a promise they seem to have fulfilled. The group released the new footage on their website, which is now rapidly circulating across social media platforms despite aggressive takedown efforts by Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive.

Intriguingly, all leaked videos conspicuously advertise a specific memecoin, raising concerns among online communities about potential cryptocurrency scams associated with the leaks. Furthermore, the inclusion of a cutscene in the latest footage suggests that CyberLeek may possess and intend to release further uploads that could significantly spoil the game’s story. The origin and age of the leaked assets remain unconfirmed.

A stark message, "No physical discs? Then more leeks!", is overlaid on the recent footage, amplifying CyberLeek’s manifesto. The group’s demands, articulated on their website, directly challenge Rockstar Games and other publishers on issues such as the rise of digital-only pre-orders, the perceived decline of "fake" single-player DLC, and the removal of single-player content post-purchase, citing the controversial case of The Crew which became unplayable even for legitimate owners.

CyberLeek’s manifesto issues a chilling warning to the entire industry: "Publishers should beware. If CyberLeek can reach Rockstar, no one is safe. This is a message to all big corpo: behave, or be the next target." This audacious declaration underscores a growing tension between a segment of the gaming community and publishers regarding digital ownership and content control.

While neither Rockstar nor Take-Two have yet issued an official statement regarding the latest breaches, IGN has reached out for comment. The swift actions by the companies to remove the circulating videos from social media platforms strongly suggest the legitimacy of the leaked content.

These breaches come at a particularly sensitive time, just days before the scheduled premiere of Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look, a timed Netflix exclusive set to air on Thursday, August 27th, before its wider release on other platforms.

This is not the first time GTA 6 has fallen victim to cyberattacks and leaks. In 2022, over 90 videos and images from an early build of the game were leaked in one of gaming’s most significant security breaches. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick described the incident as "disappointing" and "upsetting to the team," although he maintained it did not impact the business. The British teenager responsible for that hack was recently released from indefinite imprisonment and awaits retrial.

In December 2023, the official GTA 6 trailer itself was leaked on X/Twitter less than 24 hours before its planned reveal, prompting Rockstar to officially release it early on YouTube. Rockstar developers publicly expressed their frustration at this breach. More recently, in April of this year, Rockstar confirmed a third-party data breach accessed a "limited amount of non-material company information," but insisted it had "no impact on our organization or our players."

The continued stream of GTA 6 leaks, culminating in CyberLeek’s direct challenge, highlights persistent security vulnerabilities within the gaming industry and an increasingly defiant segment of players concerned about the future of game ownership.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently slated for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S on November 19, 2026.
