‘Rocking Star’ Yash Hails Vijay’s Political Transition, Praises His Commitment to Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI – As anticipation builds for his upcoming gangster action thriller Toxic, Kannada superstar Yash took a moment during a promotional event in Chennai to applaud the transition of actor-turned-politician Vijay. Addressing a crowd at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, the ‘KGF’ icon expressed deep admiration for Vijay’s disciplined approach to public service and his enduring connection with the people of Tamil Nadu.

A Mutual Respect Among Peers

Yash, who commands a massive pan-Indian following, noted that he and many others in the film fraternity have long held the Tamil star in high regard. Speaking on the shift in Vijay’s career from cinema to politics, Yash emphasized that the mandate given to Vijay by the public is a testament to the trust he has cultivated over decades.

“We’ve always admired him, his commitment, and the immense love he has earned from the people,” Yash told the audience. “It is evident now; the people have given him a significant position and responsibility. We are very happy because it sets a new trend. Seeing his discipline and dedication, it’s clear why the public has such deep faith in him.”

Giving Back Through Service

During his speech, Yash highlighted the influence of producer Venkat Narayana—who is associated with Toxic—in shaping his perspective on Vijay’s work ethic. According to Yash, the producer frequently shares insights into the long, grueling hours Vijay dedicates to his constituents, driven by a genuine passion for public welfare.

Reflecting on the role of an actor, Yash remarked, “As actors, we are lucky to receive so much love, and we have a responsibility to give it back. I believe Vijay has reached a stage where he is actively channeling that love into service for the people of Tamil Nadu. It is a very progressive step, and we all wish him the very best.”

Inside the World of ‘Toxic’

While the conversation touched on regional politics, the primary focus remains on the upcoming cinematic spectacle, Toxic. Directed by Geethu Mohandas, the film is poised to be a landmark project in Yash‘s career.

The film, set against the backdrop of 1950s and 70s Goa, features the superstar in a complex dual role. Yash will portray both a father and a son locked in a conflicted relationship, grounding the narrative in a gritty world of crime. The film boasts an expansive, star-studded ensemble, including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth.

As fans eagerly await the high-octane drama, Toxic is currently slated for a massive worldwide release on August 26, 2026. For now, the camaraderie between two of Indian cinema’s biggest stars continues to make headlines, bridging the worlds of entertainment and public service.
