NTA Declares UGC NET June 2026 Results: Over 1.47 Lakh Candidates Qualify Across 84 Subjects

The National Testing Agency (NTA) officially released the results for the UGC NET June 2026 examination on August 28, 2026. The results, covering 84 out of the 87 total subjects, mark a significant milestone for thousands of aspiring researchers and educators across India.

Examination Overview and Statistics

The examination was conducted in a Computer Based Test (CBT) mode between June 22 and July 5, 2026. The massive logistical exercise spanned 655 examination centers across 286 cities. According to the NTA’s data, a total of 7,73,806 candidates registered for the 84 subjects, with 6,07,151 individuals appearing for the test.

The demographic breakdown of the registered candidates highlights a strong female participation, with 4,30,195 female candidates (55.59%), 3,43,575 male candidates (44.40%), and 36 third-gender candidates (0.01%).

The success figures for the session are as follows:

Collectively, more than 1.47 lakh candidates have successfully cleared the examination requirements for their respective categories.

Re-examination Scheduled for Three Subjects

While the majority of candidates have received their results, the NTA clarified that the examination for English, Commerce, and Sociology will be held again. These re-examinations are scheduled for September 9 and September 10, 2026.

Candidates appearing for these three subjects are advised not to attempt to download their scorecards at this time. Accessing the portal currently may result in an “Invalid Application Number/Password” error, as official results and scorecards for these papers will only be processed and released following the conclusion of the re-exams.

Accessing Results and Answer Keys

The NTA finalized the results after a rigorous process involving subject experts who reviewed challenges raised by candidates regarding the provisional answer keys between August 16 and August 18, 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the 84 subjects can now check their performance via the official NTA website. For those looking to verify their results or access the final answer keys, please refer to the official UGC NET June 2026 results portal.

Next Steps for Qualified Candidates

Qualified individuals are advised to download and print their scorecards for their records.
