Anker Unveils “MindBase”: A Unified AI Smart Home Hub and Brand Overhaul at IFA 2026
BERLIN – Anker has made a massive splash at IFA 2026, announcing a paradigm shift for its product ecosystem. The company unveiled the “MindBase,” an ambitious new smart home controller that functions as a high-powered AI nerve center, a network-attached storage (NAS) device, and a unified command station. In a move that signals a major branding evolution, Anker also confirmed it is consolidating its portfolio, retiring the Eufy and Soundcore labels to bring all future products under the singular Anker banner.
The MindBase: A New Era for Local Control
The MindBase is positioning itself as the definitive solution for smart home enthusiasts tired of fragmented ecosystems. Built as a Matter 1.5 controller, it provides native, local control over a wide array of smart home devices—from robot vacuums and sensors to lighting and security hardware. Beyond its standalone app, the hub is designed for interoperability, offering seamless integration with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Home Assistant.
The hardware represents a significant leap forward from the legacy HomeBase security hubs previously sold under the Eufy brand. It supports up to 16 wireless security cameras, with the potential for four additional cameras via Power over Ethernet (PoE) when connected to an external network switch. Existing Eufy HomeBase S380 users will be pleased to learn that their historical footage is fully transferable to the new MindBase.
Edge AI and the “TrueSmart Agent”
At the heart of the device is the “TrueSmart Agent,” an on-device Large Language Model (LLM) powered by a 26 TOPS AI chip. By keeping processing local, Anker promises both enhanced privacy and rapid responsiveness.
The AI continuously monitors live security feeds to evaluate potential risks, capable of triggering lighting, verbal warnings, or active deterrence measures in real-time. Anker intends to expand these capabilities through future software updates, with plans to release specialized AI agents focused on household energy management and automated appliance control.
Storage and Privacy
For users concerned about the cloud-dependency of modern smart homes, the MindBase serves as a powerful local repository. While it ships with 64GB of internal flash storage, it supports a staggering 48TB of additional hard drive capacity. Anker emphasizes that all personal data, including the natural-language-searchable documents, photos, and video archives, remains strictly on the device. Furthermore, the company has confirmed that the MindBase experience will be entirely subscription-free.
A New Strategic Direction
Alongside the hardware reveal, Anker’s decision to dissolve the Eufy and Soundcore sub-brands marks a significant corporate pivot. By sunsetting these names, Anker aims to streamline its marketing and consumer identity, promising a more cohesive “Anker” ecosystem.
To showcase the platform’s capabilities, the company introduced a “MindBase Security Kit,” which bundles the new TrackLight Cam S1 and Video Doorbell S4 with various sensors. A notable inclusion is the “Smart Security Shield,” a sensor capable of identifying strangers up to 15 meters away, while utilizing “DSKey” digital credentials to identify registered family members from up to 30 meters out.
While the tech community awaits further details, the MindBase clearly aims to disrupt the smart home market by proving that complex AI, massive storage, and total privacy don’t have to exist in the cloud. Anker has yet to disclose pricing or a specific release date for its new flagship hub.
