Police arrested a man after a standoff lasting several hours in Coventry. Riley Square was cordoned off near Farmfoods.
Officers were called to the scene at around 12.45pm on Friday, April 10. When they arrived, they found that a man had barricaded himself inside a property on Roseberry Avenue.
Cops resolved the matter safely, and Riley Square was reopened that evening. A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and taken in for questioning.

He was subsequently released on bail pending further enquiries. Investigations are ongoing.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called after reports a man had barricaded himself inside a property on Roseberry Avenue in Coventry at around 12.45pm on Friday.
“A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.”
