India’s first barrier-less tolling system has gone live at the Choryasi toll plaza on NH-48 in Gujarat, introducing Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) technology. The system uses FASTag, ANPR cameras, and AI to automatically deduct tolls without requiring vehicles to stop.The move comes with stricter enforcement rules, where unpaid toll dues can lead to denial of key vehicle services like ownership transfer and fitness renewal.
