Fresh arrest after double Tile Hill shooting


Police have arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder after a serious shooting in Coventry. Two men were found badly injured on Robert Mountford Way in Tile Hill.

Weapons were reportedly brandished during a violent disorder at around 8pm on Wednesday, May 13. Officers cordoned off Robert Mountford Way, as well as nearby James Green Road and Gravel Hill.

Two men sustained gunshot wounds, with one remaining in a life-threatening condition as of today (May 15). A man in his 20s was arrested overnight on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder and remains in custody for questioning.

Three men arrested on suspicion of violent disorder have been released on bail with strict conditions. Officers will remain in the area over the weekend to continue their investigations.

West Midlands Police has also launched a Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP). Anyone with information about the shooting can provide it by scanning the QR code below or calling 101.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: Officers investigating a shooting in Coventry have made another arrest. A man in his 20s was arrested overnight following the incident earlier this week in Robert Mountford Way.

Three men who were also arrested have been bailed with strict conditions while our investigation continues, with officers remaining in the area to carry out their investigation into this weekend.

We will also have our neighbourhood teams carrying out patrols in the area to offer reassurance. Anyone with any concerns can talk to our officers and make them aware.
