Hindi introduced as official language in Assam Assembly | ALA TV, which streams proceedings, also renamed


Assam Assembly is introducing Hindi as another official language, alongside Assamese, English and Bodo, from the Budget Session starting Monday, Speaker Ranjeet Kumar Dass said. ‘Since Hindi is a ‘Rashtra Bhasha’, as a sign of respect for it, we have decided to introduce it in the House,’ Dass added. Assam CM Himanta Sarma also dismissed speculation of Bodo being withdrawn.
