Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire that broke out in Cramer Motor Engineers garage.
Firefighters were called at 11:49am to reports of a vehicle on fire.
The garage, located on Bushey Hall Road, Bushey, was engulfed by flames after a nearby car set alight.
A spokesperson from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (HFRS) told BusheyNews that eight fire engines and two specialist support appliances attended the scene. As of 4pm, HFRS had the fire under control, with crews damping down any remaining hotspots.

Hertfordshire Constabulary closed roads around the area including Greatham Road, Water Lane, Bushey Hall Grove and Aldenham areas.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary has told BusheyNews that around 15 residents were evacuated from nearby homes. Nobody is reported to be injured.
Emergency services told residents to avoid the area if possible and seek alternative routes.
Residents in nearby areas were told by emergency services to immediately close all windows and doors.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. An investigation will take place once the scene has been made safe.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Darren Cook said:
“This has been a significant fire, made more complicated by the proximity of nearby high-voltage power lines and the railway, and I’d like to thank our control room who dealt with high volumes of calls and resource movements and our crews for their hard work containing and extinguishing the fire. Although the fire was contained to the premises, it produced a large amount of smoke which has affected the surrounding area, and in particular we’ve advised residents of a nearby block of flats to evacuate their homes while we tackle the fire and make the scene safe. We’ve worked closely with our partners through our local resilience forum arrangements, and our colleagues at Hertsmere Borough Council have opened a reception centre for people who need somewhere to stay until they can return home.”
