Inside Bollywood Royalty’s Abode: Bhagyashree’s Mumbai Home Blends Grandeur, Serenity, and a Divine Discovery

MUMBAI – Decades after captivating audiences in Bollywood, particularly with her iconic debut in "Maine Pyar Kiya," actress Bhagyashree has meticulously crafted a palatial residence in Mumbai that beautifully marries her royal heritage with contemporary luxury and deeply personal touches. Born into the royal family of Sangli, her home stands as a testament to traditional elegance, a sanctuary filled with cherished memories, and an unexpected spiritual anchor.

From a striking black entrance to plush velvet seating, sparkling chandeliers, a dedicated private temple, and expansive outdoor spaces, every corner of Bhagyashree’s Mumbai abode exudes a distinctive character. However, the most extraordinary and meaningful element of the property, according to the actress herself, is a naturally formed Ganesha on a tree – a divine sight that she and her husband, Himalaya Dassani, cite as the compelling reason they acquired the house.

A Grand Welcome: The Entrance and Foyer

The journey into Bhagyashree’s home begins with a spacious pathway, enveloped by lush greenery, leading to the parking area. A dramatic black entrance door, adorned with intricate patterns, immediately sets a tone of sophisticated grandeur for the interiors within.

Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a striking foyer featuring a statement white wall covered in an elaborate textured pattern. A console table, elegantly positioned against this wall, showcases ornate decorative pieces, including a silver elephant, further amplifying the home’s regal aesthetic. The foyer seamlessly transitions into the expansive living area, where plush brown sofas are tastefully paired with crisp white cushions. This earthy palette bestows a warm and sophisticated ambiance, while the lighter accents ensure the space remains bright and inviting.

Earthy Elegance in the Dining and Seating Areas

The home’s signature palette of off-white, brown, and black extends gracefully into the dining room. A central off-white dining table, artfully styled with silver tableware, is surrounded by chairs that cleverly integrate shades of grey, black, and white in a striking pattern.

Adjacent to the dining area, a staircase ascends to an additional sitting zone, designed specifically for entertaining friends and relatives. As Bhagyashree shared with Farah Khan on her YouTube vlog, "This is where we host our friends and do all the gossip." The residence thoughtfully incorporates several such intimate seating areas. One particularly captivating nook features a sumptuous green velvet sofa set against a richly textured wooden-brown wall, with surrounding plants injecting a refreshing touch of nature into the dramatic setting.

The Divine Ganesha: A Home Built on Faith

While the interiors are undeniably luxurious, the most profoundly meaningful feature of Bhagyashree’s home resides outdoors. In a candid conversation with Farah Khan, the actress revealed the extraordinary reason behind their purchase: "We bought this house only because we saw a Ganesha here."

At the rear of the property stands a remarkable tree whose naturally formed trunk bears an uncanny resemblance to the revered Lord Ganesha, complete with naturally occurring features evocative of eyes and an elephant’s trunk. Bhagyashree clarified, "This was entirely natural, the tusk was added by Himalaya." The property underwent an extensive renovation, as it looked drastically different when the couple first acquired it. "This place was nothing like it before. We had to break down every single wall of this house," she recounted.

Sanctuary and Celebration: The Private Temple and Outdoor Oasis

From the rear section of the property, a set of elegant black stairs leads up to Bhagyashree’s private temple, a serene space for spiritual reflection. This outdoor area also expertly transforms into an elegant entertaining space for family gatherings and celebrations. Aesthetic seating, charming floral decorations, and ambient chandeliers collectively metamorphose the area into a warm and glamorous setting. Bhagyashree detailed the arrangement, stating, "Upstairs we have the temple, then terrace, and a bedroom."

The outdoor space is further enhanced by a striking white artwork encased within a black frame, while large plants introduce abundant greenery, softening the more dramatic architectural elements of the property. Farah Khan, visibly impressed by the residence, remarked to Bhagyashree, "To have a home like this in Bombay, one has to be extremely lucky. And you are lucky."

A Bright and Airy Culinary Haven: The All-White Kitchen

In stark contrast to the sophisticated interplay of white, brown, black, and grey found throughout much of the house, the kitchen adopts a refreshingly different approach. The recently renovated space is predominantly white, a reflection of Bhagyashree’s preference for a bright and airy aesthetic. "I got it renovated recently. It had been many years. People usually like kitchens in darker colours, but I really like this white, light colour combination," she explained.

However, the kitchen’s greatest luxury isn’t merely its pristine colour palette. In a bustling city like Mumbai, where space and ventilation are often at a premium, this room offers both in abundance, along with a picturesque view. Farah Khan encapsulated the appeal of the space, declaring, "This is a dream to have a kitchen like this."

A Home Filled with Heart: Family Memories and Personal Space

Despite its opulent interiors, Bhagyashree’s home remains deeply personal and infused with family warmth. One dedicated section proudly displays a memory wall, adorned with photographs of the actress and her family, with an adjacent staircase leading to the first floor where the bedrooms are located. Furthermore, a dedicated open space serves as Bhagyashree’s personal workout and yoga area. Featuring elegant marble flooring, a textured brown wall, and a striking red sofa, this is the very space from which she often shares glimpses of her fitness routine with her followers.

On the professional front, Bhagyashree was last seen portraying Jijabai in Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Raja Shivaji’ and also appeared alongside Jackie Shroff in ‘The Great Grand Superhero: Aliens Ka Aagman’. Her Mumbai home, however, continues to be her personal sanctuary, a testament to her journey from royal lineage to Bollywood star, all while maintaining a deep connection to her roots and personal beliefs.
