Ankit Kumar’s journey to success is far removed from the bustling coaching hubs of metropolitan cities. His preparation unfolded within the walls of a humble coaching center he established in his own village. For nearly a decade, this very center served a dual purpose: a classroom where he imparted knowledge to local students, and a sanctuary where he diligently pursued his own dream of cracking the BPSC exam.
“You can see that this is my coaching institute, built with dachi and palani. I stayed here and taught children for almost ten years, and while teaching, I prepared for the examination myself,” Kumar shared, reflecting on his arduous journey.
He described the years of preparation as a relentless test of endurance and resolve. “Every day brought a new challenge, and with every challenge, I made myself stronger,” he added, underscoring the mental fortitude required for such an endeavor.
Confronting the Financial Hurdle
Kumar has been refreshingly candid about the significant financial constraints that shaped his path. He openly stated that his father comes from a very poor family, making enrollment in expensive, large-scale coaching institutes in urban centers an impossible dream.
“It was quite challenging because my financial condition was very poor. My father comes from a very poor family, so he did not have enough money for me to study in big institutes,” he explained, detailing the stark reality he faced.
With no other viable option, Kumar embraced the path of self-study. He meticulously analyzed the BPSC examination pattern, delved deep into previous year question papers (PYQs), and painstakingly developed his own strategic approach to the exam, all from his home, devoid of any institutional backing.

Concluding his powerful narrative, Ankit Kumar offered a heartfelt message, specifically aimed at students who, much like himself, are preparing for competitive examinations from villages and with limited resources. “If you have the capacity for hard work, if you have patience, you can build a strategy. If you analyse the PYQs and you have a dream inside you, then even from a village, even from a hut, you can dream of becoming an officer and you can fulfil that dream,” Kumar articulated with conviction. “I have fulfilled it and proven it.”
