Bloodshed in the Doorway: Stockton Stabbing Triggers Urgent Police Manhunt

Detectives from Stockton CID have launched an urgent investigation following a violent “blade” attack that left a man seriously injured on Monday morning.

The incident occurred in the doorway of a residential property on Dixon Street, Stockton, at approximately 8:30 a.m. on September 7. Police report that a 33-year-old man was approached by two unknown suspects who proceeded to assault him with what has been described as a bladed weapon.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and the victim was subsequently rushed to the University Hospital of North Tees. While the man sustained a serious injury to his arm, investigators have confirmed that his condition is not currently believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Constable Bird, leading the investigation, issued an appeal for the public’s assistance as officers continue to track down those responsible. “The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment to a serious injury to his arm. Fortunately, we understand that his injury is not currently believed to be life-threatening,” the officer said.

Cleveland Police have released detailed descriptions of the two men seen fleeing the area separately following the attack.

The first suspect is described as a white man wearing blue shorts, a two-tone blue hooded jacket, and black trainers. The second suspect is described as an Asian man wearing black shorts, a dark blue top, and black trainers.

“We’ve carried out a number of lines of enquiry including an area search, CCTV enquiries, and others,” Detective Constable Bird added. “We’re now appealing for anyone with information or any relevant doorbell, dash cam, or private CCTV from the Dixon Street, Bluebell Crescent, and Dovecot Street areas to get in touch.”

The attack has caused concern among local residents as police work to piece together the motive behind the confrontation. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the suspects in the area—either before the assault or as they fled the scene—to come forward immediately.

Members of the public who have information that could assist the investigation are encouraged to report it via the official Cleveland Police website. Alternatively, witnesses can contact the force by calling the 101 non-emergency number, quoting reference number 179637.

As the investigation enters its second day, police remain focused on identifying the two men and gathering further evidence from the surrounding neighborhood. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
