eschewing cinemas in favor of Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms. Speaking at the success meet for his nephew Varun Tej’s
latest release, ‘Korean Kanakaraju’, the veteran actor emphatically stated that compelling content remains the
primary driver for theatrical attendance.

The event celebrated the encouraging performance of ‘Korean Kanakaraju’, a horror-comedy directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, which has garnered a positive to mixed
response since its August 7th release. Chiranjeevi, known for his incisive industry observations, used the platform
to highlight a burgeoning trend of theatrical successes across various film sizes and genres.

Content is King: A Theatrical Resurgence

Addressing the audience, Chiranjeevi expressed his delight at Varun Tej’s recent success. According to a report by Cinema
Express, he underscored his core belief: “Audiences will come to theatres when films have good content.”

He then cited a series of successful films from the latter half of the year, providing concrete evidence to support
his argument. “If you look at the second half of the year, the success started with Peddi, followed by Maa Inti
Bangaram, Lenin, Chennai Love Story and now Korean Kanakaraju. There are both small and big films, so it is wrong
to say that audiences are not coming to theatres because they are staying at home and watching OTT,” Chiranjeevi
articulated.
