India’s athletics campaign today is headlined by Gulveer Singh’s bid for a maiden Commonwealth Games medal in the men’s 10000m final. The national record holder and Asian champion lines up in a direct final, chasing his first podium finish at the quadrennial event.
India’s boxing campaign reaches a pivotal stage today, with five fighters taking to the ring in quarter-final bouts.
Preeti Pawar (women’s 54kg), Priya Ghanghas (women’s 60kg), Parveen Hooda (women’s 65kg), Jadumani Singh Mandengbam (men’s 55kg) and Kapil Pokhariya (men’s 90kg) will all be in action at the SEC Centre, with a semi-final place and at least a bronze medal on the line.
