Hundreds gather as winners of inaugural Football and Netball Built Environment World Cups revealed | News

4B Projects and Exigere were crowned the first winners of the Football and Netball Built Environment World Cups respectively.

Held in partnership with the Property Sports Network at Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road Stadium and the Score Leisure Centre in Leyton, the event attracted more than 350 professionals from across the built environment sector to compete and network.

In the football tournament, sponsored by Finch Contracts, 4B Projects emerged victorious after a closely contested competition. Foreview finished second, while CPC Project Services secured third place.

Exigere claimed the inaugural netball title, ahead of Trowers & Hamlins in second place and Building’s own team in third.

Tom Broughton, managing director of Assemble Media Group, publisher of Building, said the success of the event had laid the foundations for an even bigger tournament next year.

“From the very seed of an idea, it’s turned into something fantastic,” he said. “The spirit we wanted it to be played in was absolutely there. While everyone was highly competitive, they played in the right way.

“We had very worthy winners and everyone went away having had a fantastic time, which is exactly what we wanted. The main thing now is to get everyone back next year.

“We want to make the event even bigger and better in 2027, bring in more teams and welcome back all those who took part this year.”

The event also raised much needed funds for Haven House Children’s Hospice, as part of Building’s ongoing support of the organisation.

The next Football and Netball Built Environment World Cups will take place in summer 2027. For further information, contact events@assemblemediagroup.co.uk.
