Tensions Flare: Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut’s Longstanding Feud Reignites
The volatile history between Bollywood actresses Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut has once again reached a boiling point. What began as a long-running professional rivalry has spiraled into a deeply personal exchange, with both stars trading barbs regarding their character, upbringing, and artistic contributions to the industry.
The Spark: A Difference in Perspectives
The latest chapter in this saga unfolded when Taapsee Pannu addressed the media regarding her relationship with the Queen actress. Speaking to India Today, Taapsee attempted to maintain a distance, suggesting that their clashing ideologies are a byproduct of their individual backgrounds.
"I haven’t met her before when these so-called issues started, and I haven’t met her now as well," Taapsee stated. "My opinion on her is reflective of my upbringing and my way of perceiving things, and she stands by hers. I think that’s enough for everybody to look and decide who comes from where."
Kangana’s Aggressive Retort
The commentary on "upbringing" clearly struck a nerve with Kangana Ranaut. In a scathing Instagram Story, Ranaut lashed out, labeling Pannu a "sasti copy" (cheap imitation). Furthermore, she took aim at Taapsee’s upcoming Netflix project, Gandhari, disparagingly classifying it as a "B-grade film."
Ranaut’s post was particularly stinging, as she directly questioned the parenting Pannu received. "I never bring any parents into any argument, but today I also want to ask her parents why they couldn’t birth someone original… Why a cheap sasti copy?" Ranaut wrote. While the post was later deleted, the damage had been done, and the screenshot-driven nature of social media ensured the sentiment reached a wide audience.
The "Hence, Proved" Response
Not one to stay silent, Taapsee Pannu responded on Sunday, August 23, with a brief but loaded Instagram Story that read, "Hence, proved." Though she refrained from tagging Ranaut, the timing of the post served as a calculated, cryptic jab, fueling speculation that she was highlighting the very behavior she had critiqued in her interview.
This latest development marks a significant escalation in their feud, which dates back several years. The rivalry originally gained public attention when Kangana’s sister and manager, Rangoli Chandel, first utilized the "sasti copy" moniker against Pannu on social media.
As fans and industry observers watch the fallout, it is clear that the bad blood between the two performers shows no signs of dissipating. Whether this will lead to further public confrontations or a temporary cooling-off period remains to be seen.
