The document, purportedly issued by an outfit calling itself the “United Liberation Council” (ULC) and dated August 23, has sent shockwaves through the workforce. The letter reportedly contains highly sensitive information, including the names, home addresses, and vehicle registration numbers of several employees.
Urgent Appeal to Administration
In response to the development, the All PM Package Employees Forum Kashmir submitted a formal representation to the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. While the forum acknowledged that the authenticity of the poster remains unverified by local police and security agencies, they stressed that its widespread circulation is a matter of “grave concern.”
The forum’s leadership has urged the administration to take immediate action, requesting a comprehensive review of security arrangements at both government workplaces and residential transit camps. Furthermore, they are calling for targeted protection for the specific individuals identified in the leaked data.
Employees Stand Defiant
Despite the intimidation tactics, there is a strong sense of resolve among the targeted employees. Many have expressed that they will not be coerced into abandoning their posts or fleeing the Valley.
“We will neither be scared nor run away this time,” one employee told news agency ANI. “Kashmir is ours also. It is our birthplace.”
The employees highlighted that this is not an isolated incident; a similar threat letter surfaced earlier this month, raising questions about how alleged perpetrators are obtaining the private details of government workers. The forum has demanded a thorough investigation into the origin of these threats and a probe into how such sensitive information was compromised.
