Leeds United secured their primary attacking target in dramatic fashion on deadline day, successfully hijacking a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jean-Matteo Bahoya at the eleventh hour.
In a move that concluded nearly two hours after the 11:00 PM cutoff, the Whites managed to beat Hull City to the signature of the 21-year-old winger. Bahoya arrives in Yorkshire with a reputation as one of the most physically gifted players in European football. He currently holds the record for the fastest sprint ever recorded in Bundesliga history, clocking an incredible 37.16 km/h. To put that figure into perspective, it is a mere 0.42 km/h slower than the average speed maintained by Usain Bolt during his 2009 100m world record run.
While primarily recognized for his work on the wing, Bahoya is also comfortable operating as an attacking midfielder. During his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, he registered seven goals and eight assists in 78 appearances.

The acquisition of a dynamic wide player follows a summer of speculation regarding Leeds’ tactical direction. Throughout the window, the club was widely expected to prioritize a central striker, particularly following the sale of Joel Piroe to West Ham United. This left Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha as the only senior specialists in the central forward role.
