A man who tragically died in a collision on the A57 Snake Pass has been identified. The motorbike rider involved has been identified as 39-year-old Matthew Beetenson.
Police and paramedics were called to reports of a single-vehicle crash involving a Honda motorcycle along the busy Peak District route near the A6013 for Bamford on June 20.
Matthew was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. At the time, drivers were urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

At the time, a Derbyshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “A section of the A57 Snake Pass is currently closed following a crash involving a motorcycle. The part of the road which is shut is near to the junction with the A6013 turn off for Bamford.
“The road is expected to be shut for some time whilst emergency services deal with the incident. Motorists are advised to please use alternative routes at this time.”
Following the incident, Matthew, from Sheffield, was remembered as being ‘loved by so many’ in a tribute issued by his family.
Releasing a statement through Derbyshire Police, his loved ones said: “We’re all trying to come to terms with the tragic news. He was loved by so many, it’s only now we’re realising just how many people’s lives he had a positive impact on.
“We’d like to thank everyone who’s sent their condolences – the kind words received from the people that knew him have been a comfort since we received the news.”
