Man City’s derby day trip to Manchester United given new date as two Premier League fixtures moved

The Premier League have confirmed kick off times and TV details for all fixtures in August and September with Manchester City matches impacted

Manchester City’s derby day trip to Manchester United has been given a new date and kick off time after the Premier League confirmed the latest batch of television selections.

The first Manchester derby of the season is at Old Trafford and will now take place on Sunday, September 13, with a 4.30pm kick-off time. The game will be shown on Sky Sports.

City were beaten by United in the corresponding fixture last season, losing 2-0 in what was Michael Carrick’s first match in charge of the hosts.

This season’s contest will be new Blues boss Enzo Maresca’s first taste of a Manchester derby as a manager. He was on Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff in the 2022-23 campaign when City won the Treble, when the Blues thumped United 6-3 at the Etihad before losing the reverse fixture 2-1 in a game that included a controversial Bruno Fernandes equaliser.

City have also seen three more fixture dates confirmed with fans now able to make concrete plans for all August and September fixtures.

The only other date change is the trip to Crystal Palace, which will now take place on Friday, August 28, with an 8pm kick off and be shown on Sky Sports.

City begin the season at home for the first time in a decade with Bournemouth the visitors to the Etihad on the opening weekend. That match is on Sunday, August 16 with a 2pm kick off.

Confirmed City Premier League fixtures for August/September:

Sunday, August 23: City vs Bournemouth, 2pm

Friday, August 28: Crystal Palace vs City, 8pm

Saturday, September 5: City vs Coventry, 3pm

Sunday, September 13: United vs City, 4.30pm
