Adria Arjona has officially joined the cast of ‘Man of Tomorrow’, the highly anticipated Superman sequel directed by James Gunn.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Adria has been finalised for the David Corenswet-led film following multiple rounds of screen tests. While she has been confirmed in the cast, her role is being kept under wraps. Early reports doing the rounds suggested that she may take on the role of the DC Comics antiheroine Maxima. If the buzz turns out to be true, the casting could hint at the plot taking on a more cosmic route, as Maxima is portrayed as an alien queen who has been both an adversary and a potential love interest for Superman. However, with Brainiac (played by Lars Eidinger) already announced as the lead villain, it remains to be seen what part she will play.

Amid news of the casting, James Gunn took to his social media handles to share a photo of David in his Superman costume with a caption, “Superman at rest.”

The film will see David Corenswet reprise his role as Superman, alongside Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor who reportedly team up to take on their new adversary. Fan buzz also seems to hint at Arjona’s casting as DC’s possible new Wonder Woman. However, there is no confirmation about the same.

Several cast members from the previous instalment are also set to return, including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. Additionally, Aaron Pierre is set to reprise his role as Green Lantern John Stewart.‘Man of Tomorrow’ is scheduled for release on July 9, 2027. The film serves as a follow-up to ‘Superman’, which grossed USD 618.7 million worldwide.DC Studios has not issued an official comment on the casting.
