National Award-Winning Actress Manasi Parekh Confirms Safety Amid Tibet Flash Floods During Kailash Mansarovar Yatra

Renowned actress and producer Manasi Parekh, currently on a spiritual expedition to Mount Kailash, has reached out to fans to confirm she is safe following reports of severe flash flooding in Tibet.

The National Award-winning actress, who embarked on the sacred journey as part of a group led by spiritual leader Sadhguru, found herself in the middle of a developing crisis as extreme weather conditions disrupted travel in the region. Reports surfaced that a flash flood near the Gyirong immigration centre in Tibet had stranded numerous pilgrims, sparking widespread concern for the safety of those trekking through the mountainous terrain.

Awaiting Official Guidance

Addressing the concerns regarding her wellbeing, Manasi Parekh provided an update from her current location. In an exclusive statement, the actress confirmed that she and the group accompanying Sadhguru are safely housed in a hotel in China.

“Hi, we are in a hotel in China, with Sadhguru. We are awaiting orders from the Chinese government for further actions,” the actress stated, offering a sense of relief to her followers and the public.

The incident occurred as the group was returning from their pilgrimage to the revered Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake. According to information shared by Sadhguru, at least 77 members of their specific party were near the Gyirong immigration office when the floods struck. While rescue and relief efforts were immediately initiated, the event caused a major logistical bottleneck in the region. Recent reports indicate that while roughly 500 pilgrims have safely returned, hundreds more remained caught in the disruption as local authorities worked to secure the area.

From Screen to Spirituality

Manasi Parekh, a multifaceted artist known for her work as an actor, singer, and producer, had been documenting her Kailash-Mansarovar-yatra on social media in the days leading up to the crisis, sharing serene moments from her spiritual journey.

The actress rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with television hits such as Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi and India Calling, later winning hearts with her performance as the titular character in Zindagi Ka Har Rang…Gulaal and the popular sitcom Sumit Sambhal Lega.

In recent years, Parekh has garnered significant critical acclaim for her contributions to Gujarati cinema. Her production efforts and her stellar performance as ‘Monghi’ in the film Kutch Express cemented her status as a powerhouse performer, ultimately earning her the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actress in 2024.

As the situation in Tibet remains fluid, fans of the actress continue to monitor updates, hoping for a swift and safe conclusion to the ordeal for all pilgrims currently in the region.
