New Beauty Concept “Gloss Studio” Opens in Boardman, Empowering Independent Stylists
BOARDMAN, OH — A fresh take on the traditional salon model has officially arrived in Boardman. Gloss Studio, a new full-service salon located in Centroid Plaza, is making waves by providing a unique platform that allows beauty professionals to operate as independent business owners while working within a collaborative, shared environment.
This innovative approach eliminates the standard hierarchy of a typical salon. Instead, the facility functions as a hub for ten distinct small businesses under one roof. Each stylist manages their own client base, scheduling, and branding, ensuring that customers receive a personalized experience from a professional they know and trust.
A Culture of Collaboration
For those who might fear that a shared space could lead to cutthroat competition, manager Pandee Fusillo says the reality is quite the opposite.
“There’s not one owner; we are all part owners and collaborators in this,” said Fusillo, who brings over 30 years of industry management experience to the venture. “What makes us unique is that we all collaborate together; we work alongside each other; there’s zero competition with us.”
This supportive ecosystem is designed to provide stylists with the benefits of salon infrastructure—such as a professional location and community—without the administrative burdens or restrictive oversight often found in corporate-owned salons.
A Successful Launch
The grand opening was marked by a vibrant ribbon-cutting ceremony, which welcomed members of the local community to tour the new space, enjoy refreshments, and meet the stylists who are now operating their businesses from the location.
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has worked together to bring this salon to life,” Fusillo said during the event. “It has truly been a team effort, and I’m so thankful for the talent, energy, and support everyone has brought to this space. We’re excited to open our doors, welcome the community, and see what the future holds for all of us.”
Opportunities for Growth
As the studio begins its operations, there is still room for further expansion. According to a recent new Boardman salon press release, a limited number of chairs remain available for independent contractors looking to lease their own space and join the collective.
Located conveniently near Creekside Mortgage, Gloss Studio is poised to become a destination for both stylists seeking independence and clients looking for a high-quality, personalized salon experience in the Boardman area.
