"Pokopia" Player Uncovers Clever Workaround for Event-Exclusive Pokémon, Bypassing Time Restrictions

A dedicated player of the recently released life simulator Pokémon Pokopia has discovered an ingenious method to acquire special, event-exclusive Pokémon without resorting to time manipulation or waiting for specific in-game events. This groundbreaking discovery offers a significant solution to a key criticism leveled at the game since its launch earlier this year.

For months, Pokopia players have grappled with the game’s limited-time events, which dictate when certain rare Pokémon can be recruited to their towns. Traditionally, obtaining these coveted ‘mons required players to either meticulously adhere to the game’s event calendar or engage in "time travel" by adjusting their Nintendo Switch 2’s internal clock – a practice many find inconvenient or undesirable.

However, Redditor ArcadiaCitizen_ has unearthed a complex yet effective workaround that leverages existing in-game systems to bypass these restrictions. The core of this method revolves around the Mysterious Goggles, an item that grants access to "cloud islands" – player-created areas brimming with various in-game assets.

The key insight lies in the ability to photograph items on these cloud islands and then replicate them using Pokopia‘s 3D printer, located within Pokémon Centers. This process requires sufficient quantities of Pokémetal or Rare Pokémetal, the game’s crafting resources. Crucially, ArcadiaCitizen_ discovered a specific cloud island, presumably created by developers Game Freak and Koei Tecmo, that contains virtually every imaginable item within Pokopia. This includes crucial habitat-specific items directly linked to event Pokémon.

By accessing this particular cloud island (using the code 6DXL PD6F), players can photograph and then 3D print these event-specific habitat items. Once created, these items can be used in their own towns to attract and recruit rare monsters such as the Jumpluff family, Sableye, and even the mythical Jirachi, long before their designated event windows.

It’s important to note that a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to access the online features, including cloud islands, necessary for this method.

The revelation comes as a welcome relief to the Pokopia community. Upon its launch in March, Pokopia faced considerable criticism regarding its time-limited Pokémon recruitment windows. Many fans expressed frustration, particularly those who had not yet acquired a Nintendo Switch 2 by the game’s release and feared missing out on exclusive content before even having the chance to play.

This new discovery, whether an intended feature or an unforeseen exploit, provides players with greater agency over their Pokémon collection. It offers a viable alternative to the sometimes-restrictive nature of time-gated content, allowing players to enjoy the full spectrum of Pokopia‘s creature roster at their own pace. While the developers’ stance on this workaround remains to be seen, for now, trainers can celebrate a new path to catching ’em all.

Pokopia players can now breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that there are multiple avenues to expand their Pokémon teams, regardless of the in-game clock or external factors.
