Rajkumar Hirani Confirms ‘3 Idiots’ Sequel in Development: Story to Skip College Days for a ‘20 Years Later’ Narrative

Back then, the belief was that sequels don’t work,” Hirani said, noting that audiences are only drawn back to theaters if the story provides a compelling, fresh reason to revisit familiar characters. He reiterated that the 3 Idiots sequel will only move forward if the script reaches a stage where the team feels the story truly deserves to be told.
