From Parliament to Pop Culture: Ravi Kishan Embraces Unintentional Meme Stardom

New Delhi, India – Actor-turned-politician Ravi Kishan has unexpectedly found himself at the epicenter of a new wave of internet memes, captivating social media users with his distinctive personality and unscripted viral moments. From his earlier “money follows my brother” remark to his now-iconic rendition of “Koteshwaray Shiv Koteshwaray,” the BJP Member of Parliament has become a veritable sensation, his interviews, performances, and public appearances providing an endless wellspring of material for meme creators.

What began with a handful of organic posts quickly snowballed as netizens unearthed and revisited Kishan’s older interviews and performances. Before long, the Gorakhpur MP had transitioned into one of the internet’s latest meme icons, a phenomenon he claims was entirely unintentional.

Kishan, however, is far from oblivious to the widespread attention surrounding his viral moments. In a recent conversation with News18, he offered a candid explanation for why his actions tend to capture public imagination so readily: his naturally high-energy personality. “I enjoy this because this is me!” he exclaimed, embracing his authentic self.

Delving deeper into his eclectic personality and the influences he believes reside within him, Kishan shared a fascinating insight. “I’m from Al Pacino to Amitabh Bachchan to Balraj Sahni to Shah Rukh Khan to Michael Jackson to Elvis Presley… Itni saare log mere sharir mein naachte, gaate rehte hain. Toh main itni fusions deta rehta hoon ki yeh desh aisa deewana hee rehga. I’m the same guy jisne 20 saal pehle bola tha, ‘Zindagi jhandwa, phir bhi ghamandwa.’ (So many people keep dancing and singing inside my body. That’s why I keep creating such fusions that this country will always remain crazy. I’m the same guy who said 20 years ago, ‘Life is a wreck, yet there is pride’),” he articulated, painting a vivid picture of the diverse artistic spirits he feels embody him. This unique perspective offers a glimpse into the dynamic wellspring of his often-unpredictable public persona.

Kishan, who diligently represents Gorakhpur in the Lok Sabha, firmly reiterated that his viral behavior is not the result of any meticulously calculated strategy. He emphasized that he neither scripts his remarks nor deliberately attempts to engineer moments designed to trend online.

“I’m not trying anything. I’m not reading anything. I’m not doing extra theatrical or anything, or planning ki iss tarah bolunga (planning that I will say something like this). It’s just the moment I come, and something happens to my body, and words nikalte hai (words pour out). Aur kuchh bhi hota hai, whether Parliament mein bhaag raha hoon ya kuchh bhi hai (And whatever else I’m doing, whether I’m running in the Parliament or anything else), it goes viral,” he explained, underscoring the spontaneous and authentic nature of his viral appeal.

The actor-politician attributes his sudden surge in popularity to a convergence of opportune timing and what he perceives as divine blessings. He added, “Bolte hai na… jab samay aata hai, aapki har andaaz logon ko achi lagne lagti hai (As they say… when your time comes, people start loving every little thing you do). So, it’s just the time, blessing shower of God, humare purwajo ka, everyone from the family, people praying. I believe in that.” This philosophical take suggests a deep-seated belief in destiny and the power of collective good wishes contributing to his unexpected rise in internet fame.

On the cinematic front, Ravi Kishan was recently seen showcasing his acting prowess in Indra Kumar’s ‘Dhamaal 4’, a film that features a stellar cast including Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, and Riteish Deshmukh in leading roles. Despite his burgeoning political career, Kishan continues to maintain an active presence in the entertainment industry, further diversifying his public identity and providing more opportunities for his distinctive personality to shine, both on and off-screen.
