The 50-year-old artist shared the joyful news on social media, posting an endearing photo alongside his longtime partner, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, and their newborn. True to his playful spirit, Sean announced the arrival with a clever nod to his father’s musical history, writing: “Okay so… Charlotte and I would like to announce that we have indeed created a Human Bean!”

He later confirmed the infant’s name in a follow-up post, simply stating, “His name is, Aurelius! Thank you!” The proud new parents also shared glimpses from the hospital, capturing intimate moments of their life as a new family.

The news follows recent speculation that began when Sean’s half-brother, Julian Lennon, appeared to prematurely share the arrival on social media. Julian, John Lennon’s son from his first marriage to Cynthia Lennon, had reportedly posted—and subsequently deleted—a message congratulating the couple on their “Beautiful Boy,” a poignant reference to the iconic song John Lennon famously penned for Sean.

Aurelius’s birth marks a significant milestone for the family, as he is the first grandchild of both John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Sean, who was born on his father’s 35th birthday in 1975, was only five years old when the Beatles legend was tragically killed in 1980. Now, he carries the torch forward for the next generation of the Lennon lineage.
